How the fee is built

Personal accounts: sending from the Cash App balance or a debit card is free; sending money funded by a linked credit card costs the sender 3% of the amount (the ToS lists this both as 'Send from credit card 3%' and 'Add money from Credit Card: 3%'); receiving money is free. Standard transfers out to a linked bank/card are free (1–3 business days); Instant Transfer costs 0.5%–2.5% of the amount with a minimum fee of $0.25–$1 and a maximum of $75, with the exact rate only disclosed in-app before confirming. Business accounts: Cash App deducts 2.6% + $0.15 from each payment received from a customer's Cash App account and 3% from each Tap to Pay payment, so the balance credited already nets out the fee. For percentage fees Cash App uses banker's rounding to the penny (numbers ending in 5 round to the nearest even), and fees are deducted first from the collected funds; on a refund Cash App also refunds its fee so the customer gets the full amount back.
