Poshmark takes a flat $2.95 on sales under $15 and 20% on sales of $15 or more, off the final order price. The buyer pays the $6.49 shipping label; sellers in Texas also pay sales tax on 80% of Poshmark's fee. Listing is free.

Listing is free. After a sale, Poshmark deducts its fee from the 'final order price' (the order/item price after seller discounts; buyer-paid shipping and sales tax are outside this base): a flat $2.95 when the sale is under $15, or 20% (seller keeps 80%) when the sale is $15 or above. The buyer pays a flat $6.49 shipping fee for a USPS Ground Advantage label covering the order (or a bundle from one closet) up to 5 lb; above 5 lb the seller pays, buying a heavier-weight label upgrade at $5.00 (5.1–10 lb) or $10.00 (10.1–15 lb), paying only the difference from the original label. Since October 1, 2025, sellers with a Texas return address also have a Texas Seller Fee Tax deducted: Texas state (6.25%) plus local sales tax applied to 80% of Poshmark's fee. Rounding rules are not published.
Checked against Poshmark's own examples
The calculator reproduces every worked example the platform publishes; these are run as tests before any page is built.
- Poshmark's own Texas example: a $100 sale pays the 20% fee ($20) plus Texas Seller Fee Tax at an 8.25% combined rate on 80% of the fee ($1.32). Page says: poshmark fee $20.00, texas fee tax $1.32. "A buyer purchases an item for $100. Poshmark’s seller fee is $20 (20% of the sale). Texas applies a 8.25% tax on 80% of the seller fee ($20 × 80% = $16). The commission tax is $1.320 ($16 × 8.25%)."
- Arithmetic check derived from the published rates: a $12 sale pays the flat $2.95. Page says: total fees $2.95, net $9.05. "flat commission of $2.95"
Not included
- Canada, Australia and India fee schedules
- Sales tax collected from buyers (Posh Remit)
- Seller-funded shipping discounts / Closet Clear Out offers (amounts governed by the Shipping Policy, not loaded)
- Promoted Closet advertising fees
- Posh Shows / live-show fees (none stated on the loaded pages)
- Carrier overweight/oversize postage charges
Notes
- Threshold boundary: 'under $15' -> $2.95 flat; '$15 and above' / '$15 or more' -> 20%. A sale of exactly $15.00 is charged 20% ($3.00).
- The fee base is the 'final order price' after seller discounts. Whether a seller-offered shipping discount is additionally deducted from earnings is governed by the Shipping Policy (not loaded) — a calculator author must decide how to model seller-paid shipping discounts (UNVERIFIED here).
- The Legal Center page at /fee_policy renders the Terms of Service first; the Fee Policy text appears only after switching to the 'Fee Policy' tab (URL becomes /terms#fee-policy). The Fee Policy tab shows no version/effective date; the Terms tab shows 'Version 4.6 (Current) Effective June 3rd 2025'.
- Shipping: only $6.49 is on current official pages. A '$7.97' figure that surfaced in a search-engine snippet was not found on any loaded Poshmark page (it does appear in Mercari's carrier table) — treat as unverified/outdated.
- Third-party reports (e.g., Modern Retail) say a late-2024 announced 5.99% seller fee / $5.99 buyer fee structure was rolled back after seller backlash — UNVERIFIED; the current official pages show only the $2.95 / 20% structure and the Texas Seller Fee Tax (Oct 1, 2025) as a new deduction.
- Texas Seller Fee Tax: Poshmark's example shows '$1.320', so rounding of this deduction to cents is not specified; the local component varies by the seller's locality.
