With Shopify Payments, online card payments cost 2.9% + 30¢ on Basic, 2.7% on Grow and 2.5% on Advanced (premium cards 3.5%/3.3%/3.1%), in person 2.6%/2.5%/2.4% + 10¢, plus 1% for cards issued outside the US. Using another payment provider adds Shopify's 2%/1%/0.6% transaction fee on top of that provider's charges. Plans are $39/$105/$399 a month.

Two separate fees. (1) Shopify Payments card processing: fee = rate x amount + fixed cents, charged when you capture payment; the rate depends on plan (Basic / Grow / Advanced / Plus) and channel — online standard cards 2.9% / 2.7% / 2.5% (+ 30¢), online premium cards (commercial/corporate/business cards and all domestic Amex) 3.5% / 3.3% / 3.1% (+ 30¢), in-person cards 2.6% / 2.5% / 2.4% (+ 10¢), in-person manual entry 3.5% + 10¢ on every plan; cards issued outside the US add 1% ('cross-border fee'); paying in a non-payout currency adds a 1.5% currency conversion fee (US). The loaded pages do not itemize the base for card fees beyond 'the payment for an order' (i.e. the captured order amount). (2) Third-party transaction fee, charged by Shopify only when a third-party payment provider processes the payment (or on the store-credit/gift-card portion for stores created on or after May 12, 2025): 2% / 1% / 0.6% / 0.2% of [(cost of products - discounts) + tax + shipping charges]; waived entirely when Shopify Payments is the sole provider; if Shopify Payments runs alongside a third-party provider, Shopify Payments transactions also carry a 1.25% premium. Neither card fees nor third-party fees are returned on refunds. No rounding rule is published.

Notes
- The pricing page defaults to the 'Pay yearly' toggle, so the headline prices ($29 / $79 / $299) are the annual-billing effective monthly rates; monthly billing is $39 / $105 / $399. Plus is 'Starts at $2,300 USD/mo' with 'Not included' under Pay yearly and a 'Try for $399' offer.
- Plus card rate conflict: the plan card says 'Card rates from 2.25% + 30¢ USD' while every Plus row of the comparison table says 'Most competitive rates' (no number).
- The base for Shopify Payments card fees is not itemized on the loaded pages (fees are charged 'when you capture the payment for an order'); the third-party transaction fee formula explicitly includes tax and shipping. Calculator author must decide whether to apply card rates to the order total including shipping and tax (consistent with fees on the captured amount).
- 'Online international rates + 1%' on the pricing page corresponds to the help center's '1% cross-border fee on all sales made with a credit card issued in another country' for US stores; the pricing page lists it only under online rates, so treatment of international cards in person is unspecified.
- Online 'premium' card rates apply to domestic commercial/corporate/business cards and all domestic American Express cards — a calculator needs the card type as an input.
- Third-party transaction fees also apply to the store-credit/gift-card portion of orders for stores created on or after May 12, 2025, even when Shopify Payments is used (waived on Plus with Shopify Payments as sole provider).
- If Shopify Payments is used alongside a third-party provider, Shopify Payments transactions are charged standard rates plus a 1.25% premium.
- Currency conversion fee is 1.5% for US stores (2% France/other; 3% for PayPal Wallet) and is charged in the payout currency; it is not refunded on refunds.
- No rounding rule is published on the loaded pages.
- help.shopify.com returns an empty shell over plain HTTP; the pages were captured with a JavaScript-rendering fetch.
- Rates shown are for the USA | English locale; the page says pricing and payment options differ by country.
